dvi-vga adapter

    hey guys
    just bought one of these:

    i plugged it into my monitor, and expcted it to work straigh off, is there some config involved or should it just work straigh away.
    i have a demonstration for my final year project in college and i need it to work!

    Seriously though, its an easy one to find.

    It should get it easily enough - First, check the settings on the projector, make sure you have the right display type chosen. Then hook up cable, press F7 (or Ctrl F7, whichever is applicable). If you still have nothing, reboot.

    If nothing, check your display settings in the display panel under sys prefs.

    it works fine on mac os x when i hook it up to a monitor, but when i have windows running i pressed ctrl and F7 but no response
    any ideas?
