I want to get an iPod Touch 8GB for a present and I was wondering where is the cheapest bricks & mortar place where I could pick one up.

I checked in HMV during my lunch break and they have them for €279.99 but when I checked the HMV site they have them for £187.99 (approx €247).

Anywhere cheaper then €279.99 in Dublin?

    Thanks.

It's a flat price set by Apple. www.apple.ie/store

You might save a few quid in some smaller retailers or online

Well the birthday is early next week so I don't have time to buy online. I'll have alook around the city centre during the weekend and see what I can come up with. As far as I am aware of most electrical shops do them, would I be right? (ie: Curry's, Dixon's, 3G, etc).

i dunno but if i was to take a guess at it, i'd say it's down to making you feel like the device/software is personalised for you (i).

    Sorry for irritating you

I'm not into Apple products at all and I wouldn't ever dream of buying one if it wasn't for someone else.

In the same boat, birthday is on Tuesday. Looking for the cheapest one myself, i do not have time to buy online either!

They are 261 in 3G stores.

Yeah I was in the 3G store earlier and seen them for €261. Apparently they are €259 in Power City, I might nip in over the weekend and pick one up there.

Amazon.co.uk works out at €226 (Ex Del). If you order that today, I'd be shocked if you didn't have it by tuesday. I've bought from Amazon.com and had it in that kind of time.

I didn't think Amazon would ship to Ireland because of the recycling charge thingy ?

I dont think Amazon do ship here. Also, I agree with Cremo, please stop calling it iTouch. It sounds so cheesey.

I'm sure they would if they could. Its a loss of revenue for them. I ordered a 16gig touch on ebay.
