Sound on Dell Laptop

    Hi,

I am seeing an issue with my sound not working on my Dell laptop (XPS M140). It’s a strange issue. There is no sound at all coming from it, however if I plug in the headphones and press down on the laptop near where I plug the headphones in, I get sound albeit periodically! However if I pull out the headphones the sound no longer works. It seems like there might be something loose to do with the sound. Has anyone any ideas? I bought the laptop about 2 years ago in the states so not sure if I can contact Dell over here. Should I just bring it to a normal repair shop in Dublin….

    Cheers,

whats the service tag number of your machine? (should be written on a little black sticker on the case somewhere 7 digits long)
This tag number will allow you to check the warranty status on your desktop, worth chasing up a repair under warranty if your still covered.
