Might be playing here on Saturday for the first time... can anyone tell me anything about it, am I in for a treat? I hear it's been done up in recent years and is quite nice.

Yes, sheep on the course. Lots of poo around so your shoes will most likely be caked in it by the end of the round. Not a bad track though. They did some work on the course last year and changed a few holes, I haven't played it since.

I played there in a classic last year. Interesting course. Sheep and gorse everywhere though!

On the second hole, i think (par four back towards the clubhouse with plantation on the left), one of the guys in my group topped the ball off the tee and it crashed straight into a sheeps leg. We were all in stitches laughing at the sheep hobbling back across the fairway with what seemed to be a broken leg! :D No word of a lie!

God, yes it's hilarious to see an animal in pain with a broken leg

Although I imagine it must happen quite a lot down there as they are all over the place.

Excellent track and well worth playing. Scratch Cup is always a great day there. Some super par 3's and some super views from most of the tee boxes.
    Irelands Oldest Course as well........

    Enjoy it

I actually couldn't make it in the end, but the rest of the guys who went were very disappointed in it. In bad nick despite some decent recent weather with some fairways out of play.

Kinda glad I missed it really!
