Withdrawing cash in riga/st petes

    Going ona bit of a european tour to Berlin, Riga and St Petersburg in Russia next week.

    Whats the best way to do the finances? I have an AIB laser card and a mastercard, is it cheaper to use those and if so which usually works out cheaper?

    I dont beleive bureau de changes can be cheaper than these methods?

    Also I presume there will be no problem withdrawing cash in Riga or St Petes from an ATM with my cards? Although the AIB laser card is Maestro??

    Also any last minute tips would be appreciated! And good nightspots in St Petes especially!!

    I was in Riga last weekend and used my AIB laser/maestro with absolutely no problems. Loads of ATMs around the place too. Berlin is the same (plus they use yo yos).

    Not sure about St. Petersburg though.

    If it was me, I'd use my laser card, just to avoid carrying lots of cash.

    I had no problem in St Petersburg with my cirrus, assume it'll be the same with you. Unfortunately can't remember any of the places I went out in St Pete. Didn't go to any clubs so can't comment on that scene, just bars.
