    Hi all.

Pokernews Magazine has just hired me on a short term basis to get a few things sorted for them.

Basically, they're looking for two things. First, details of any special festivals in Ireland apart from the obvious 'big ones'. If you're organising a festival and would like it listed in the Pokernews 'Live Tournaments' section of their website, I'd be happy to forward the information on to them.

Second, if there are any pubs or card rooms who aren't already receiving complimentary copies of the magazine and would like to, you can either post your interest in this thread or send me a pm and I will have them dispatched to you straight away.

Dom has given me permission to post here. Thanks Dom! :)

    Regards,

    Dawn

As Dawn says, I personally don't see anything wrong with this type of post as it seems to be giving as much as taking, also pokernews has had threads posted before by boards contributors.

As always, I am open to correction by DeV et al.

    Hi Everyone,

I have replied to all PM's received so far and have passed the information on as promised.

I only accepted this job as I felt the Irish poker scene was being 'ignored' a bit and want a chance to correct that. Appreciate the replies so far and look forward to many more. It's a step in the right direction. My initial contract with them runs for only 3 months, so I will do my best for you during that time. Cheers!

    Regards,

    Dawn

    Hi Dawn,

We'll be announcing details of the International Poker Open 2008 soon and will PM you as soon as everything is confirmed (its next October).

We also have the National Student Poker Championships taking place in the Regency Airport Hotel, Swords Road, Dublin 9.

Its limited to 400 players with a buy-in of €65+€7reg and starts at 11am on April 5th (one day event will finish on the Saturday night - fully dealer dealt and all the rest professionally done).

    Thanks,
    Stephen Mc Lean.

I have passed on all information received to date and will be sending them a new batch of requests tomorrow. If anyone else is interested in free copies of the magazine for their club, card room or poker society, don't be shy. Send me a private message with mailing details and I'll be sure to add you to the list.

If you'd like an upcoming festival mentioned on their website, you can either post details here or send them via pm. All information is passed on to their tech department who will update the site per their schedule of works.

    Cheers! :)

EDIT - Please be sure to include a contact number for delivery of the magazines. Just in case they have difficulty finding the place. Thanks again.

Just a quick reminder that I need a contact phone number when you send your details to assist the delivery service if they have difficulty locating you.

    Cheers! :)
