Strabane Flood of 1987

Just found this video on youtube about the floods in Strabane in 1987. Very good video and nice to see how people worked together on this. One thing that struck me is as you remember in New Orleans, one of the immediate problems was looting. But there wasn't anything like that in Strabane. Real comradery from all sides of the community is this "war torn" town.

And being from the border area myself, it was fun to see all those familiar faces from 20 years ago.

Nice find - well the floods weren't nice at that time but it brings back a few memories alright.

I was working in Dundalk at the time and can remember seeing it on the news.

Deman, where the hell are you from? :D

Not far from you ;) Upriver about 3 miles from Lifford.

And Muffler, lived close to the White Cross for a while too.

I have taken the opportunity to contact the uploader regarding the removed videos. Had a complaint to youtube regarding copyright and video was removed.
Apparantly there is a new upload from the user now...
