Jam anyone!

    OK this is the story. I have been playing guitar for a good few years now but mostly alone learning songs and riffs etc :( sad I know. Anyway, it's about time I had a bit of a jamming session with other musicians to improve at a faster rate. Nothing too serious just a jam etc and see where it goes from there.

    I know there are many like me out there so go for it. What have you got to loose. I live in Blessington, Wicklow and I'm 36 but I really couldn't care who wants to jam or what age or what style. Music is music.

    Also how would people feel about a jamming club if a room in a community centre or something could be booked?

    OK Lads. I have called St Kevins hall in Blessington to see if there is availability for any evening and to see what the cost would be. They need to get back to me and I'll let you know the details. Cheers, Ste.

    I think you can rent the band hall in Ballymore Eustace too.
    Or you could ask The lakes (pub) could you use downstairs, they rarely open it.

    Hope that helps

    Will check out the Band Hall. The Lakes I'm not so sure about, I wouldn't want it turning into a drinking session, but if all else fails!!

    Cheers Nemisis ;)

    You should try catch some of the bands that play the Ballyknockan Inn too ( I'm not affiliated), some great ones at the moment.

    Yeah I've been to a few up there. Great spot too. The festival in the summer is brilliant and the guinness is top notch! I don't get out much though so persueding the other half that the Ballyknockan Inn on a Friday or Saturday night is better that a fancy meal somehwere is difficult enough.

    Did this jam ever take off? I'd be into something like this but I live in Balbriggan, any interested jammers in north Dublin?

    It depends on what type of music you 're interested in and where you plan to have a jam. I'm in Nth Dublin and play bass.

    Northside also, a good session once a month or so would be great.

    It's mostly blues and rock that I play. Here's a link to a jam with my brother in law recently, this is the type of stuff that we jam to but I'm willing to try anything: http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=IsBJx5Pu7wE

    :eek: Thread Thieves!!!! :pac::pac:

    I hope you do get together and have a good session! :cool:

    I did manage to get a few lads together but the beginning of summer may have been bad timing. Holidays, work commitments etc means it is quite difficult to get a regular session. I'll try again in Sept.
