Hi guys,

I've been seeing a guy for about 2 months and about 5 weeks ago we were messing around. We were quite drunk and I guess we were being fairly rough. Anyway, we're in the middle of shagging when suddenly he's bent over in pain and there's blood everywhere. He spent the whole next day in A&E but was told by the Doctor that it would heal naturally in a wek or two. Bascially he had torn the string that connects the helmet to the shaft. Ouch, poor ****er!! Anyway, last weekend we were messing around again and we weren't even being that rough when it happened again! It had been about 3 weeks since it initially tore so maybe it just wasn't fully healed or something.

My question is, has this happened to any of you before and if so how long did it take to heal? Did it heal naturally or did you have to get the snip as has been suggested to me.

Sorry it's a kinda tender topic but if you've experience of this please help as it's really frustrating and very painful (for him) Thanks!!

Takes bout 6 weeks to 2 months to heal properly so looks like it'll be a quiet few weeks for the pair of you!!!

Happen to me aswell a few years back, exactly the same situation. Tried shagging again about a month later and it happened again. Ended up having to wait about 8 weeks then caus i was nervous of it happening a 3rd time.

Happened to a mate of mine (well, to her boyfriend). You need to give it longer than three weeks....Let the poor guy heal!!! I'd give it at least six, maybe longer. If he has no objections to the snip it might be the way to go.

Yeah happened to me twice aswell the first time i nearly died i thought it was going to drop off lots of blood very painful to touch it does take longer than 2 weeks to heal just be very careful for a month or two, its very common not a big deal

Can't see why it couldn't happen to circumcised penis, that part of the skin is still there.

No, its a little piece of skin that connects the foreskin to the main shaft of the penis. You usually can't see it on an uncircumcised man until you pull the foreskin back. I don't know whether it's still on a circumcised man or not.

The easiest way for a woman to see what its like is there's a very similar piece of skin (a frenum) connecting the gum above your two front teeth to your lip. If you push your tongue up in front of your teeth the little bit of skin joining your lip and gum that you touch is a frenum very similar to one a man has in his penis.

First of all. Don't be freaked out. It's quite common. Happened to me too.

Secondly, if he's feeling embarassed about it, he has no need. And reassure him.

When it happened me 7/8 years ago, I bled so much that the blood went all the way through the mattress and onto the floor beneath the bed.

We were freaked. I thought my girlfriend at the time had some miscarriage or something but then when I went to the toilet it stung bad so we knew it was me. We were going to go to casualty as there was so much blood.

Mine healed within a couple of weeks but some cuts are deeper than others obviously.

Tell him take it easy, remind him that it's common as muck and ye'll be back ridin in no time. The wait will make it even better.

Thanks for all the replies guys, worst part of it is I'm not even his girlfriend! This happened the third time we'd ever shagged. There was so much blood but I tried to act really casual to stop him from freaking out. Fair play to him, he handled it really well. We fell asleep and when we woke up his boxers where soaked through!! Things liek that always look worse than they are though, I just feel really bad about it and my friends keep slagging saying stuff like...'And are u sure you weren't smuggling razor blades up there?'...or 'Are you going to Electric Picnic, I hear there's a great band playing called Laura and her banjo string'..

Now that i've educated myself a bit better it is indeed still there however it is much thinner than in a couple of the pictures i've seen and quite frankly im surprised it has survived.

Cant really speak for people who were circumcised at birth but the majority of adult circumcisions would remove the frenulum, no need for it after circumcision

Also having a circumcision isnt bad advice because as far as i know this has increased chances of happen with a short frenulum or tight foreskin

Ehh, a circumcision removes the foreskin of the penis, therefore the banjostring is off course removed? It connects the head of the penis to the foreskin, hence not there if the foreskin is not there.
