    hi guys ,i got a dell xps m1710 loptop,and it has smoe problem with screen.it looks like flicker in my monitor ,but is't ,have lines(i don't how call it),and now my warranty run out of date.i do't know what can i do.i try to ring to dell,just waitting for long time and not one to speak,if dell repair it how do they charge!Should i look for other to repair it!Thanks a lot!:(

    I don't think I fully understand what you are saying.

    So, the laptop is out of warranty, is that correct?

    Also, do you have flickering on the laptop screen? Or is it only when you plug it into the monitor?

    Ring Dell and stick with them! Dell have fixed several machines for me that were a week or two outside of warranty.
    Failing that go through the dell website and renew your warranty for a year (you can do so for upto a few months after your warranties expired). Wait a week then ring Dell and claim the repair under your new legitimate warranty.
    Sounds like the backlight on your screen is faulty.
