Downgrade fee on NTL???

Anyone heard of a €10 downgrade fee with NTL. Just called to remove Setanta Sports from my account and wqs told that there would be a €10 downgrade fee for doing this. Questioned it and the girl couldn't give me any details about it as she had only been there for 2 weeks.

I have added and removed this package in the past as I generally only get it when there are games that I want to watch and have never incurred this fee.

Anyone shed any light on this??

Ah well, it's great to see the UPC taking over hasn't change how NTL or Chorus love their customers!

Got Sky Sports from them today and the €10 downgrade fee was mentioned.

Was on holidays last week but got a reply from them saying it should have been mentioned when I was requesting Setanta, apologies etc etc etc but no mention of refunding it.

Will just go to the pub in future to watch the games as I ain't giving them anymore of my money.

I only subscribe when my team is on and they have only been on Setanta 3 times this season so more financially viable to go to the pub. Just got my bill though and didn't get charged the downgrade fee and only got charged 1.24 for having Setanta for 2 days so result - so far!!! Won't "celebrate" until I get the next bill.........

A downgrade fee? That is ridiculous.

I'd say the 'downgrade' fee is to stop people subscribing and then un-subscribing in the manner that you have done...

Sky have no issue with it as long as you give them 30 days notice. This is a cynical way to increase their revenue stream.
NTL/whatever they're calling themselves these days won't win any customers with this move.. clearly they're losing more of their subscribers to sky
