hi, I was there for a week last september, very pretty little town, nothing is madly over priced, I was on a buget and managed quite nicely. I highly recommend going to Positano on the ferry for a day, capri is also not a million miles away. I did a day trip to Pompei (millions of tourists, bring your patience), oh and in Pompeii, there will be loads of restaurants all trying to get your business The fella that got us, said we could have a lunch for €10.00, spaghetti or pizza and a drink, sounded good to us. He left out the bit that we couldn't choose which pizza we wanted, so some of us got plain cheese, and the spaghetti could have come out of any tin, but you live and learn.

Great side streets, packed full of stalls and shops with the specialities of the region and souvenirs.

There is of course the Irish pub, didn't go, some of the lads did and said it was awful, really expensive and the manager was really rude.

The best restaurant i ate in was off the main square, it was the original parish priests house, can't think of the name of if for the life of me, really nice setting, they told us they could seat up to 600 people!!

Nearly everyone there speaks English but they appreciate it if you make an effort with italian.

    hope this helps.

Oh yeah, we flew into naples, we arrived late and missed the last bus to sorrento, so we got a taxi that was €125 for 5 of us. We didn't care we were wrecked and our families were already there. I think we could have got a train though. My brother got married in Positano, best wedding i have ever been to.

Was in Sorrento on a week holiday over a year ago, lovely location the scenery is beautiful and its not overpriced.

Great for couples but their is not much their for a group of people or if you like going to lively bars every night. The Irish bar although a ****hole was one of the few places to get a late drink so thats why it was popular!

Positano is beautiful id recommend it for the coast road there alone!

Oh and if going from Naples to Sorrento their is a hovercraft from the Port to Sorrento during the daytime, its quick and hassle free. Check times before choosing this over a bus though as it sails every hour sometimes.
