ok guys and girls i read the all womans team and all the negative ppl toward it. would that be the same if someone turned around and said that they were gunna set up a gay or lesbian team?? just a curious question since i thought that the all womens team looked cool and have a few friends that asked me bout it!!

airsoft is about fun and people treating other people with
respect coz they have woping great big in there hand

and that why girls i that play injoy haveing the same chances
as men in the sport same gos for a lot of the unger kid who
mi not be as big as there matew but put im on the battle field
and there going to frag the hell out of ya

yeah i know but what im saying is that regardless of which minority it is the people either involved or not involved would be pissed,. the point a lot of people aew making is that we should all be treated as the same and not have seperations based on sex, skin colour, sexual preference etc etc.,

problem with something like this is the little boys club , that reckon equality is a bad word whether it be a womens team or the the above Gay and lesbian team ,they were forced to play in a womens team or other ,
if people want to do this ,its there choice and if anyone has a problem your just sad

Gatling, The people who are speaking out against an all girl team are not against the team per se, they are against the idea that girls HAVE to be on an SPECIFIC team. While you might not have made that assumption, it is implied by the reasoning of the teams existence.

Considering the amount of stupid, monosyllabic garbage that was chucked around in here over the "ladies night" proposals and various other threads its hardly surprising that a lot of the folks are sick to the back teeth of hearing it because it is exactly that behavior that puts women off and makes us look like a bunch of pituitary retards in camo.

Political correctness is nonsense but if you set up an all girls team (or all gay, or black or any other non-mainstream team) it invites too things. Suspicion and ridicule.

The womens and the gayz already play the airsoft, so dont really need a team set up for them I suppose is the point.

Its a pretty equal sport as is.

I think people take issue with the implication that these sub groups somehow need to have a team set up for them.

Personally I have no problem with people setting up a team that requires acu, stanag mags, or that you have a v instead of a p

Its up to them, but from the outside it looks like it creates division.

if the girls want a night out or sorry a team let them

but its all to do with the way we look at it wouldent see any thing
worng with takeing the mick out of any team for the laugh and treating
every one equel that what i realy like about this sport its not uncomin
to see a 14 year old kid to take the mick out of some older dude

its all = and all is fair in love and war

Exactly, as I said in the other thread, if a group of women choose to play together and form a team then that's fine, but setting out to set up a team to try and recruit women into the sport is what seems to be causing offense to people. Just like going out and setting up a gay team and trying to recruit members could be considered offensive.

There's enough people that play airsoft in this country, i'm sure there are at least a few gay or bisexual players already, but if you were to set up a team centred around their sexuality, they probably wouldn't join it as they'd be singling themselves out, the same with any minority group that wants to fit in.

the issue isnt weather the girls want a team, its if they need a team seperate to the rest of us. and particularly why a man would be setting up a girls team. some of the girls are against the idea too.,
as far as all AK teams and M4 teams, thats completely different. some teams have certain requirements to join and obvious ones would be what AEG and camo you'll wear, if you dont have the stuff already then you can get it, if your a bloke/straight person etc and told you can join a team coz its only girls or gay people then thats discrimination, you cant change who/what you are to be on a team.,

I personally never claimed to speak for the majority, only myself. Tbh gatling you've shown a lack of understanding as to how others precieve this issue. Have you ever considered that there are people on this forum with experience with the problems that pop up the minute you start pigeon holing people along gender, religious, racial ect ect lines? Its something that has been shown to be counter productive time and time again.

In order to make something like an all womens team work or an all under 18s team or an all whatever team you need to conscious of where things can go wrong and the criticisms of it and hopefully that hopefully that way you can avoid trouble. You seem oblivious to any pitfalls and any negative comments are attributed to a "little boys club".

In my mind the major risk and its a real one, is that you will get a situation whereby if your a "insert minority" you end up pretty much exclusively playing with a certain team or grouping of people. It can happen very very easily and would be bad for the sport in general.

Guys the answer to this is simple.

Why set apart a minority in an already minor sport.
We shouldn't actively seperate ourselves like this.
When the sport grows and teams evolve a bunch of women may get together and create their own team which is fine and their choice. But tbh this is more seperatists than the rebel alliance.

So if the women of this sport wish to make a team so be it.
Who are we (men, majority in this sport) to single them out.

I formally request we put this issue to rest.

Having seen the sport elsewhere (Northern Ireland and abroad), it has equality already. I witnessed no bigotry or discrimination based on nationality, religion, skin colour, sex, or sexual preference.

The irony is that in creating these teams for various sub-sets of people to play in, we are creating that discrimination since we are setting them up as being 'different' and 'labelled' from the start rather than encouraging everyone to just jump in with each other . With that in mind, I would like to echo Dr_Pepper's request to put this issue to rest.
