    Equipment:
    FTA receiver is a Visionnet F7100 SW - m2.59 FS-1000, HW - 1000-0.5-TUV0.
    2nd is a SAB Explorer bootloader 1.01, SW 0880V106, HW S500F.
    Dual LNB
    96cm solid dish (non-motorised)
BTW this is one of 1st post on sat forum so go easy if I get terms wrong

Picture has degenerated (in calm, clear night) - when I go to ITV 2 / 3/ or 4 I can get broken picture and/or a bad picture message on Visionnet (not sure about 2nd as it rarely moves from cbeebies!!)
I should also say that in high winds / rain picture on most channels can be broken up so much that I can't watch.

    I am wondering if
    a) is this all I should expect?
    b) should I have the dish realigned after 18 months?
    c) would I get better picture in windy conditions by switching to a mesh dish?

Thoughts and ideas appreciated, also reemmondation of someone in Cork (corksat are still down for maint, they installed system)

    Hi Eoin,
I remember you installed your system from CorkSat and their dishes are pure ****e to be honest, I ended up taking mine down after 2 months (60cm) and bought a triax 78 from satellite.ie (thanks Tony). I have since installed same for a friend and its a fine dish. Though I have noted lately that my itv2, 3, 4 with a maplin metronic box takes while for them to register and show a pic, same with my SAB box.
However, the fact you say in bad weather that rain etc causes break up, then i would suggest your dish is out of allignment. Get a proper dish altogether and no need for that big for astra 2.

TheDriver thanks for the rapid if not unexpected reply. I will not start a CorkSat bashing session here, suffice to say I have the ammo!! Can you recommend anyone in Cork area who would swap out dishes / realign etc? I spent alot of money trying to get this system in - and 18 months on I am still not happy

I buy my FREE TO AIR Receiver,80cm SOLID dish, co-ax & twin L.N.B. with all mounting bits & pieces + a signal strength instrument for swinging dish into position
from my local supermarket ALL FOR 80 Euro. They open up at 8am when the offer is on and you better be there in the queue. Only trouble is it's DIY which is very enjoyable.
    TIPS.
    Dont erect dish on chimney
Position your tv inside window and do the final adjustments to dish while looking at screen. MOST FATAL ACCIDENTS HAPPEN AT HOME
