Academic Qualifications

I recently attended for an interview for a temporary position with the Office of Public Works and was graded on the academic qualifications I hold. Is there somewhere on the net that can explain this grading system? I've had a look but ended up going around in circles.

    Thanks!

    :)

Surely your academic qualifications were just one part of the interview? If it's done by points per section then there's a good chance you'd make the marks up in the areas of experience and knowledge where others would fall down.

As for it being unfair that someone with a degree would score higher, i disagree. Imagine you did have a degree and you were up against someone with the same level of experience as you, who had also previously worked there. Now imagine this person didn't have a degree. Would you feel that you deserved the position ahead of them because of your qualification? I would.

Having a good degree shows an employer that you can be dedicated for something for a number of years and that you would have a good work ethic which could transfer to the position being offered. Now before anyone bites my head off, I am by no means suggesting that anyone who doesn't have a degree has a poor work ethic at all.

Chances are the academic qualifications are only a small part of the interview. The experience will stand to you massively.
