I've got a problem. I've written poetry and general english to a (what some would say) high standard for a number of years, I want experiment with music but I dont play any instruments.

I dont understand the basics of writing music to a guitar rhythm (?)... even though I know what I want to say and can put the words together in the manner in which I want to say it. I could write "rap" easily, and have done in the past, but thats a very simple thing to write, but complex thing to perform. It also means I'm reliant on finding a peice of music to write to, instead of creating the soundscape I actually want, or even one that suits.

So I'm wondering, a) is there any formats to write in (lyrics) that would help with putting chords to them

    b) If I posted my lyrics on up here, would anyone fancying TRYING to put them to music? (if they like the lyrics obviously)

Or c) if I posted them would anyone fancy giving me some advice on how to edit them to make them fit to music? (if they like the lyrics again)

Hey pen if you live in dublin why not come along to the airing room? It hasn't started yet as i'm looking to build up numbers. About 6per evening. I've even got a spare guitar to throw into your hands.

Hi. I would be very interested at having a look at some of your lyrics. I am the opposite to you in that I can write the music but am no good at putting lyrics down. Let me know if you're interested.
