Oh my god, you forgot Tetris!

52 games in 1 is good too.

    But seriously, tetris.

Get a couple of copies of Puzzle Quest - highly addictive, and the two player battles are great.

Use of wireless on laptops and game consoles during flights isn't allowed on flights and can be dangerous so I'd recommend totally against this.

However if you have the GBA Advance Wars games or if the feature is still in the DS versions you can play 4 player advance wars on one GBA by passing it around when your turn is over.

I got Worms Open Warfare 2 recently and thought it was pretty good. It has multiplayer too, up to 4 players I think.

Makes no odds if the flight has taken off or not. Wireless devices are not permitted during flights. You are only permitted to use steady state technology and should leave your network adaptor disabled.

I heard not too long ago that the FCC in the states now allows it for internal US flights. Some airlines even offer a wireless broadband service - although they may have adapted something to avoid it distrurbing the cabin - in any case each airline usually looks on this differently. I've been allowed use my ds on flights and on others told to keep it turned off completely.

The multiplayer in this is really good. I'd actually forgotten about the game. Must give it another bash.

My favourite (can be multiplayer) game when going to Japan is to get hammered then sleep, but otherwise, I'd recommend something that you can get into for a good few hours.

TBH, a 12-hour flight goes by quicker than you might think. Now try flying to New Zealand... :(

What expertise do you have on the area to make such a brash claim? Have you personally derived the fields generated using Maxell's equations? Have you figured out if the fuselage of the particular model of plane the OP will be flying on has a thick enough hull to act as a Farady cage, or if it is just a flying electromagnet? Unless you can post plots* of the implications for the E and H fields by said DS lies (with correct referencing to the exact seating arraangements of the OP and his friends), I'd abstain from making bold claims if I were you. There are International guidelines on the matter for a reason.

    * If you have succeeded in compiling these plots, what type of Boundary Conditions did you use on the domain perimeter? I cant imagine PEC's would be quite accurate enough considering the problem in question.

I don't know about that , but I do that that basically people are fundamentally stupid, if it was possible to bring down a plane by leaving a wireless device turned on (wifi on a laptop, blu-tooth on a phone , leaving a mobile switched on) etc , you'd wouldn't be able to move without Boeings dropping out of the sky every half hour.

The fact that I was able to get to work this morning without several tonnes of twisted metal landing on my head means that in all likelihood having the multilayer option turned on wouldn't cause a problem .

Having said that, I'd keep it single player myself ...you do NOT want to anger the cabin crew , especially on a long haul flight and while they wouldn't have a clue as to whether you've wifi turned on , they will work out if you're all playing together ,they're fairly strict on the rules they're given to enforce :) .

Do it yourself, I couldn't be arsed.

Despite what the implications of a wireless network on a plane are the fact of the matter is that it isn't allowed on flights and will get the cabin crew riled up if they realise what you are doing.

Sonic and Mario at the Olympics
    Micro Machines
    Tetris
    Worms Open Warfare 2
    starfox

I completely agree. My retort was pointed at FruitLover who seems to think your previous post was nonsense. Unless he proves to be some expert in the area, I'd advise the original poster to pay heed to the laws set by the aviation community. Besides, you can be prosecuted for breaking them, regardless of how inconsequential the infringement might appear to be.

Is it so hard to just play single player games OP?

I always hang people to the cabin crew if I catch them using wireless devices on planes that I'm on. Its a matter of self preservation :)
