    Hi,
Is one gig ok for Vista or have people noticed they need 2 gig.
    Thanks

I've used Vista Home Premium with 1GB of RAM and it was fairly sluggish. I also used Vista Basic with 1GB of RAM and it ran perfectly. If you had Premium/Ultimate I would imagine that 2GB+ would allow the laptop to run smoothly, depending on your processor of course. Anyhoo RAM is fairly cheap these days and places like MemoryC sell 2GB kits that are relatively inexpensive.

Id go with 2 or more. 1 will just be as said above, sluggish. I personally dont like vista, mainly for its compatibility and security, and also because it slows down your PC. XP suits me fine and I get that extra RAM to keep my PC running faster.

Get another Gig, should be fine then.
