I want to go to America for the somewhere, not sure where, preferably somewhere nice but not too hot!! Just for July and August. I know I really have to get things organised in the next week or two! There's a few of us going but we're still undecided as where to go and what to do! I'm a teacher by the way so something in that line would be handy! Not lookin for anything too hectic as I really only want to work purely to meet people. I'll be getting paid my teacher's salary so couldn't care less about earning! I plan on getting drunk every night ha ha! Basically, what's the story with a visa and all that? And sorting a job? My friends can go on the J1 but I can't! :(

San Francisco.. have spent loads of time there, best city in the world!! Your screwed in terms of visa's, dont have time to elaborate now but in a nutshell you wont get a short term working visa. Regardless, you'll pick up work in various restaurants as a waiter and be paid under the table plus tips.. pays exceptionally well if you get into the right place!

    An extended holiday I'd say....you won't get a visa.

+1 You won't get a visa for two months work and especially not without having a job to go out to first. I'd say go for an extended holiday.

yeah, I'd say San Francisco too. For somewhere Brilliant, that is not too hot, like you specify, then it fits the bill perfectly.

Research the Harcourt Residence Club 1105 Larkin
    The Gaylord Hotel 620 Jones
    The Monroe
    The Kenmore

I think there's another one. These (used to) do long stay deals.

You can stay in America without a visa for 3 months (90 days). irealnd are part of the visa waiver policy so you can have your 3 months holiday wihout a visa, you can't work though and from what I've heard I would strongly advise you not to overstay your three months. I know someone who did that and he couldn't get back in the states for 5 years.
