    Hi, i had ordered a laptop last nite. See thread below...

    But saw ad in todays Star for a Dell Inspiron laptop 1525 with what looked like a better spec. to me. Any wud appreciate if ye cud compare for me. They are same price...

    I'd go with the second one. Better processor, bigger hard drive, better screen and everything else is more or less the same. Works out better value for money.

    hey word of advice, bought the gf a 1525, and its the bells and whistles, but the screen res is dire.

    but looking at 1525 mentioned above and also 1720 on Dell website 17" screen about 100 quid in the difference. Seem to have same memory and that, would the screen be better on the 1720? Or does that come down to graphics card?

    Maybe, I'm missing something, but it might be worth you while checking the spec through the epp site
