try Fran and Jane boutiques, one on Clarendon Street or they have a new store in the CHQ building at the IFSC. Assuming you're in Dublin of course! They have some nice understated dresses. I got mine in Monsoon, loved it!! Coast is also a popular one! Good luck!! They are all quite expensive though!

Edit: Just saw you are in Dublin!

If you have plenty of time try eBay or Asos

Try all the shops around CLarendon St, Costume & all in Powerscourt townhouse centre.

    Monsoon
    Karen Millen
    Warehouse
    Pamela Scott

Dundrum centre is great, you have the whole spectrum there from A-wear to Harvey Nichols.

I always find Oasis great for young but classy looking evening wear.

I think this dress from miss selfridge is the definition of a 21st dress at High Street Price.
Its on Littlewoodsireland.com, but be warned it was in store last season. So if your friends are big spenders they'll be aware of this. imageunavailable&wid=240&hei=360imageunavailable&wid=240&hei=360

if your looking for the more expensive dress... then check out this dress from Brown Thomas.. its very pricey but stands out and has a really young feel to it.. Its Dolce and Gabbana and roughly costs under 1300euro.

Hope this helped... P.s reds are Huge this season and sailor wear!

I got a gorg purple, black and lilac one in monsoon. its their "fusion" label and was only €70. Its about knee length with frilly sleeves and a little tie back around the waist! you can wear it with tights and platforms or just with pretty sandals!

girl i know got her dress for her 21st in Pamela Scott. i got my Christmas party dress there too. they've gorgeous Dresses. most of them seem to be €90 if you're willing to spend it.

theres one on Grafton Street and one in Blanch.

They've lovely ones in one of the shops in Debenhams. think it might be Debut. pricey though. but lovely stuff and alot of it is not too over the top.

I got mine in Urban Outfitters, in Temple Bar the second floor do designers and I got an absolutely stunning Vivienne Westwood dress for about 300...little pricey but its still by far my favourite item of clothing so I definitely dont regret it! You can probably get some less expensive dresses there too but they're definitely more unique than just going to a-wear or coast like everyone else!

I know the place. They actually do really nice things in there that I haven't seen elsewhere. I'd recommend this place too.

Try French Connection, Reiss & Karen Millen (both in BT's & Grafton st), Ted Baker (Grafton St) Costume & Tulle at Georges St Arcade, BT2, Oasis, Warehouse, Monsoon and Chica (Westbury Mall), friends have gotten beautiful dresses at all of these places at one stage or another, good luck!

yeah, dundrum shopping centre definately, I searched high and low for a dress for mine last year and accidently came across it in therepy at house of fraiser. beautiful dress, was lucky enough to go straight into faith to get matching dream shoes and then back to house of fraiser for ted baker underwear.

That's gorgeous........on her. Probably not as flattering if you don't have that figure.

I'll give another vote for Coast.

Lilly07 - i had the same problem, almost all the dresses I tried on were too big. I ended up getting a halter neck dress in monsoon, the halter neck style made it look more fitted on me, thankfully!

i got a pretty black halterneck dress and made a big red ribbon to put around it, it looked great and i know noone else will have the same!

Also debenhams are great for smaller sizes, and some of the brands in BT too.
