Marshall AVTs are rubbish so if you've narrowed it down to two, there's your answer.

Ive had more trouble with Marshalls but the 100X is quality. Then again then the Vox is also excellent.. haha good luck with that decision but its fairly win win! :)

    Vox.

I'd avoid the Marshall like the plague.

I own one of those Vox's and they are quality. Get it.

The Vox can be gotten for a bit over €50 cheaper here.

i would try soundslive.co.uk i got a few amps from them, they are by far the cheapest(i just bought a vox ac 30 for 700 euro from them, they are over a grand from thomann and the like)great service as well.

tba i probably wont buy it online, the guy in the shop i go to knows me well and the band hires PAs of him. it works out as the exact same price on thomann in the shop, plus if anything goes wrong *tuches wood!* its a lot handier to bring it into the shop than back to germany!

im definatly getting the vox now, i had my heart set on the AD100 from the start, but playing throught the marshall made me consider it.

il post pics when i get it, but it will probably be june!! :D

I have a Vox AD30VT and I'd imagine the 100 would be the same, justbigger, if not better and the 30 watt is fantastic so I can only imagine what the 100watt is like.

The Marshall AVT's are getting crucified since they came out.

It's hard to know these days.....everybody has opinion....which probably contradicts the last persons view. It's as if some people think they are experts and look for a flippin' arguement sometimes.

All you can do, is try out as many that are available and pick the one you like the most.

You like the Vox and most people have said that it is the best option.
I am looking at Thomann to see if there are any other rivals, but there are so many....i haven't played any of them except my Marshall JVM410c at €1950.
It still frustrates the hell out of me because i don't always get what i am looking for from it.

You might be better off with your tidy Vox than an expensive amp that is not worth half the f**kin money.

Both guitar players in my band have AVT's and they sound like very nice amps to me. Only paid about €300 for them in musicmaker too. They're selling them cheap at the moment.

ENGL THUNDER 50 E322 at €739 on Thomann.

Sounds like the best thing since Joe Satriani connected his JS1200 Ibanez into his Peavey JSX. Now that's a tone to die for!!!

Definitely get the vox, I've heard really good things about that amp. Having owned a Marshall AVT100 and played through countless MGs I can safely say to stay away from that stuff. Nasty sounding and expensive. They come with some lame effects that wow some people, however the actual tone is pretty poor. Weak distortion and not so great cleans.
You could also get something like a Line 6 or a Peavey Bandit that would be a much nicer amp for practicing around with.
