    Guys,

I'm looking for your opinions on this external hard drive that I'm looking at buying. It will be moved around a fair bit, hence the reason I'm going with this
one. Its not the smallest or lightest but it looks like it will do the job.

Anyone have any personal experience of these or any feedback, good or bad?

    Freecom Hard Drive

    Thanks,

    Tox

I had a 500gb freecom drive last year, not a toughbook one though. I found it terrible. There was no ventilation at all so it constantly overheated and shut its self off. And there was no anti-vibration pads. But i believe the one you are looking at here is a good rugged external hdd.

    Built-in USB 2.0 cable.
I don't like this. If cable breaks the whole box will need replacing. Also it's too short on a cluttered desk.

I have a usb cabled one at the moment and like the one you've chosen it's great for moving around as it doesn't require an extrenal power source. I did have one previous that broke down for no apparent reason and I haven't got the couple of hundred dollars needed to extract the files off it yet. No matter what one you get it needs good looking after.
