vga connection

    i have a VGA connector (DE-15/HD-15) on my xps laptop.
    i want to connect a humax settopbox to the laptop.
    the humax has a nine pin DE-9 connector standard connection input.
    can anyone recommend the connector i need to get go connect up the two.

    its ok ive found a rs232 to usb connector that will do the job for me.

    The 9 pin port is an rs232 comms port, so you can control the box using the hyperterminal program on a PC, if you have a RS232 port on your PC or a suitable USB to rs232 adapter.

    You don't connect that to a VGA port, let alone a VGA out.
