Has anyone ever driven from France to Sweden. I'm taking the ferry from Ireland to France and then I'm driving the rest of the way to Stockholm, Sweden.
I'd appreciate any information on how long it took you what were the petrol expenses etc.

Friends of mine drove from the coast in Portugal to the ferry in northern Denmark in 24 hours a few years ago. They only stopped for petrol. They don't recommend it, but it can be done...;)

I presume you're going on the bridge from Denmark rather than through eastern Europe and via Finland? Just to point out, the southern North Sea coastline and countries are fantastically boring to drive through, totally flat and nthing but motorways and fields. Another option would be to get the ferry from England to Bergen, Norway and drive across the mountains into Sweden that way?

    So it could be this

    or this

Wow lovely pics! I work with a Swedish dog rescue organisation that is considering driving dogs from Ireland to Sweden instead of flying them over, which ends up being quite expensive so we are trying to figure out a cheaper option.
Just not sure it will end up being cheaper yet.

why not in that case get a ferry to the uk then drive to the east coast and get a ferry to norway then drive to sweden? i have no idea which would be more cost effective, quicker or less stressful for the dogs but it might be an option?

Unfortunately you are not allowed to bring dogs on the ferry to Norway, don't ask me why...

in that case get the ferry to holland or denmark and then straight onto another ferry to sweden?

I'm pretty sure that France is our only option or to go to UK and then drive from there but I'm not sure what's the best option, I'm waiting for 2 different ferry companies to get back to me.
