Renting a car

    Hi,

    Wasn't 100% sure where to post this.

    Does anyone know what the dealio is with car rentals? Basically, I don't have a credit card (or at least I dont have one thats not maxed :D), and I need to travel for work next week and rent a car.

    Is it compulsory to have a visa card to rent?

    They normally stick a deposit on the CC (which must clear) and refund it at the end of the rental.

    Some places may take a cash deposit (€400ish I think) - they'll also want payment in advance.

    Ring them...
