It's probably decent........ but i've heard a few people say that Sony's
"Lower end" LCD TVs are hit and miss.

I'd suggest you have look around avforums.com first before you commit yourself to it.

    Great price. Pity it's not 1080P :(

But if you don't need 1080p is this a good buy?
Should I buy it, or is it just an 'ok' offer...

That's not exactly a bargain. It's a good price for that TV but not neccessarily a bargain.

If you're in the market for a TV of those specs then yes I would go for it. If 1080p is important to you, I would wait for prices to drop and get one of those.

I've got a 40" Sony S-Series(720p/1080i) myself and I'm very happy with the picture quality, but if I were buying a TV now, I would insist on 1080p.

I on the other hand do think its a bargain. Its not the lowest end sony bravia because it does have the bravia engine.40 inch is just about big enough to see the difference between 720p and 1080p but it still would'nt be easy to notice. Its a big tv by anyones judgement and because its a sony, you know its going to be built properlyUnder 900e - a bargain IMO.A 32" one of these would be 900 anyway in a sony centre so its definately worth it

A vast majority of the Sony Bravia's have a CI slot for a CAM and card, though this model is unlikely to have a cable tuner (DTT tuner and analogue tuner only)
