    Hi All

I'm considering starting to learn karate. After some googling, I found it very hard to find a karate club! I'm sure there're karate members in this forum, can anyone suggest a well-run karate club? ideally near dublin 8, many thanks.
Oh, I'm a complete beginner, so the club needs to provide lessons for beginners, thanks again..

Here are a couple of clubs I know of.

I've gone to a few tournaments in Dublin and there seem to be loads of clubs around. Try the colleges, UCD, Trinity, DCU, DIT etc all have strong clubs and I don't think you have to be student to train (only to compete).

Or try this site. ONAKAI are a governing body for karate in Ireland:

    http://www.onakai.org/gpage3.html

and I remember the WSKF crowd have a strong squad:

    http://www.wskfireland.net/

    Also the JKS:

Hope there's something in there that will help!

There's a good Shotokan Karate club in Loughlinstown, you can find details at www.dublinshotokanacademy.com

Training is on Fridays only during the summer, changing to two days a week from September.
