Right, I thought the first reply was sincere but I'm not sure now. From what I've read it's an Aer Lingus strike and said nothing about other airlines.

Could somebody please confirm whether it will affect Ryanair flights and passengers? Pretty important:o

Something that is bothering me about all this is reading in the paper that Ryanair and Aer Lingus (and presumably the other airlines) won't be giving passengers refunds. How does that work? I've paid for a service. The airline doesn't provide it. It's not my fault, it's not their fault...but they still get to keep the money  Nice little earner.

Aer Lingus has warned passengers intending to travel on Monday of the potential for severe disruption due to the current dispute with SIPTU over new work practices.
    ...
Customers can change their bookings without charge or apply for a full refund by logging on to www.aerlingus.com from midnight tonight.

Don't count on me for this but if you are flying in the morning,I wouldnt change any plans as it's only tomorrow that the results of the strike ballot will be known and this might be too late to affect morning flights.
    Hopefully you will be lucky.

I'd advise turning up as per normal and see'ing what happens at this stage.

I'm flying tomorrow morning with Aer Lingus to London and SUPPOSED to be coming back on Thursday......
I rang Aer Lingus during the week and the girl I was speaking to said that more than likely flights wont be majorly affected on Monday morning but she couldn't begin to describe that might happen on Thursday, or in between for that matter.

I wonder how much trouble it will end up being in trying to get flights from the likes of Ryanair and BMI in the morning if flights are disrupted.

when will we find out the decision by the Air traffic controllers or IMPACT regarding their strike?

I'm due to fly to dubai on thursday.

That strike is more than likely going to go ahead, as of now, but they are in the courts tomorrow so hopefully they sort something out!

Aer Lingus management and Siptu trade union representatives have reached agreement on changes to work practices due to be introduced tomorrow morning.

The deal means that the threat of strike action at the national airline has been averted.

All Aer Lingus strike posts moved from other thread to this one so as not to confuse it with the proposed ATC strike :)

Oh wait, so just because the Aer Lingus thing is sorted, there's still the possibility of the ATC strike? Damn, would have liked it the other way around, sorry Linguseers :P
