I got peugeot 205cti (gti cabrio) back in november and it has stopped starting afew days after I got it home, I taught it was a sparking problem and have changed the sparkplugs, leads and distributor cap, I moved on to a fuel problem think one of my lines was blocked and discovered that the fuel pump doesnt kick in when I try start the car. I tested the pump and it works fine which leaves me at an electrical fault, the fuses and relays seem to be ok, but it is hard to tell with electric's, so if anybody out there as any information on the car or knows a good electrical mechanic, please replay with any info at all, I live in Dublin 18 so mechanics close to home would be prefered, Thanks for reading.

I expect there is a fuel pump relay somewhere, though the pump may only work during cranking. If you were able to test the pump you could run a 12V supply to it and try to start the car.

I have tested the pump with a 12v battery, it was grand and I tried to get it going with the battery hooked up to the fuel pump, no sucess, I heard the relay controls the amount of fuel that gets pumped, and it is hard to do that with an independant battery hooked up to the pump without flooding the system, even with short bursts of fuel still could'nt get her going

Is the fuel being pumped through the pump when you tested it or once you heard the pump making noise assumed its ok?
A mate of mine had similar problem, turned out the impeller on the pump was no more, new pump fixed it:)
