channels not working??

    i have a problem with my sky+ box,
    channels
    355 - chart show
    356 - vault
    357 - B4
    364 - scuzz
    & channel 4 (+1) don't seem to be working at all.keep getting 'no satellite signal been recieved'.
    I rang sky & they said they want €100 for an engineer to come out to take a look.
    strange thing is the above channels work perfect on my normal sky box with is upstairs & gets its signal from the same dish.
    any help would be great.:)

    If you have a dect phone near it, turn if off and move it well away and see if that sorts it
    Known to be a problem.

    i have 4 of these phones in the house but none of which are in the same room as the sky+ box??:confused:

    well check if any are near the cabling going towards the sky + box.

    Anyway, turn them all off and check just to eliminate.
    then if still a problem check connections.

    Can you try taking your sky box and connecting it to where you sky + box is and see if they show up on that. That will eliminate signals to the box and indicate box itself possibly

    OP I had the exact same prob.... same channels missing. It was a cordless phone placed clost to the sky box caused the problem.

    If the phones aren't close to the box, (including the far side of the wall!), is there any other wireless stuff, like a router or something else?

    ive had probs with my sky plus box it was 4 months old i had to pay to have it seen to the enginer said it was a foult with the box he said he would send a report in about it & that i should tell sky that i wanted 3 months free viewing.i ended up getting 2 month free viewing .its worth a try .good luck.joe

    Thank you everybody who replyed.
    all sorted now,spot on - the cordless phone bases were interferring with the signal.

    only problem now is that no matter where i put the base in the house it still interfers with it???.

    i can always switch the phones off when i want to look at these channels:o
