    Does the old mobo have a AGP port? If so it should be fine, if its AGP 4x port only the card should work in AGP 4x mode, although someone could prob confirm this

    Correct, AGPx8 gfx card will run fine in an AGP x4 slot.

    OP should really post up specs to give people a better idea.
