Grattan Bridge (commercial units removed)

Delighted to see the commercial 'pods' and 'modern' benches removed from Grattan Bridge. This was a set of trinkets and street baubles the Corporation shoved in with all the subtlety of a brick sitting on top of a wedding cake..

That bridge needs space, it restores the view down the Liffey. Hopefully it stays clear.

Sounds great, I've always hated those little "pod" thingy's. Must walk by that way next time I'm in the area. :)

It was one of several plans to make Dublin City more "continental" in style.
Those thing were placed in the wrong location - further up the river near the IFSC would have been better.

They've been idle for too long too.

The quirky benches are still there, but no more units..

    Taken this Sunday evening. (24-02-2008)
