I just looked up First Stage Diving's website to book my reg and bottles in for testing. But the site is down and the domain name has expired. Does anyone know what the story is with First Stage? Are they still trading?

    The shop is closed now.

What make is the reg? Someone else might be able to do it for you.

Great outdoors will service Scubapro Regs, Flagship scuba will do Apex & Aqualung regs, and bottle testing.

Or you could directly to Lambay Diving to get your bottles tested. George does a good job.

Another vote for George - i've had my bottle tested with him a few times and he's always on the ball.

Yep, they ceased trading a month or so ago and sold off all shop stock. They are also selling/have sold their compressor and boat.

OK, just spotted that first stage diving are no more which has come as a bit of a shock. I started my PADI open water course with them before Christmas and still have to complete my open water dives as the weather was too bad before Christmas.....I have tried to contact them and am getting no where. I'm not sure what to do now...have I just been robbed of my 690 euro that I handed over to get my Padi certification.........??????

You were robbed the minute you handed over 690 euro, whether First Stage were still trading or not. For that amount, you could have joined a CFT club for a year, got CMAS certification and as many dives as weather permits AND still have change for a good weekends diving away somewhere.

I chose them for their location, no other reason.....I was hoping to get some help/advice here, I was obviously wrong.

You were offered sound advice. What you choose to do with it is entirely up to you.

If all you wanted here is help with your consumer issue (as distinct from diving), then I'd further advise you to post in the appropriate forum, namely Biz - Consumer - Consumer Issues. (http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=580).

If you can contact them, get them to give you a referral so you can finish the course elsewhere. And hopefully get some of your money back.
