Formatting dvd+r. Help please!!!

Ok. I got DVD+R disks. I wanted to burn some movies on to them. It started off fine. I dragged the files onto the dvd then selected the option to write the filed to the dvd. I put it in the dvd player and it all worked fine. So i started the next dvd and it all started going wrong. It just seemed to be copying the files on as files, there was no option to burn the files on. When i put it into the dvd player it didnt recognise the disk. I dont know what i'm doing wrong as it worked the first time no problem and they are the same type of files. Have i done something to format the disks so that they cant be opened on a dvd player? Its driving me crazy so any help would be great.

dont use the windows tool.

try something like nero - free trial here

tried this. says the files arent valid or somehing for some reason

Anyways,
What format are the files you are trying to burn?
Vob etc or something else?

You could try Imgburn http://www.imgburn.com/
Mode - build first to make an iso, then mode-write to burn it..
But it all depends just exactly what you are trying to burn..
