    Hey lads,

Bit of a problem here. Was a bit sick of Leopard on my MacBook and have been meaning to rollback to Tiger. Problems such as the 'Num Lock' / 'Caps Lock' key being on at startup and slow start-up times have helped in my decision to rollback.

Anyways, not really the point. Being a Mac n00b with regards to reinstalling and OS issues, I was a bit unaware of what to do when you need to format the disk in which your primary OS is on. But read up a bit online and what I did was the following:
    • Inserted my Tiger Install disk I got with my Mac Mini and pressed 'C' on startup and it booted into the disk but gave me a message that it could not be installed on this system. Is this because I used an OS CD I recieved with a Mac Mini (as opposed to the OS DVD disc I recieved with my MacBook - surely not!!)? I have the OS DVD for the MacBook but 2 steps down.
    • Anyways, I found my way into the Disk Utility and formatted the disk Leopard was installed on. So that's now erased but when I reboot the MacBook, it's automatically launching into the installer on the CD.
    • And it won't let me eject the disk.. presumably as it's booting into it.

Now my CD is stuck in the drive and it's just looping into the Installer with the 'Cannot install on this system' error.

Any help would be much appreciated!

    Cheers DubWireless.

Your link in the 'MBP keeps booting into XP' did the trick. This link!

So the CD is out now what next?

ouch! yeah you can't use another system's install disk's on a differnet system (i.e. your Mac Mini disks on your MacBook... the Mac Mini disks are tied to the Mac Mini hardware)... you need to use the disks that came with the MacBook or get an off the shelf version of the OS and use that

edit: anther option to try and eject the disk (on a system that has no 'hole' for the paper clip eject) is to hold down the trackpad / mouse button on the computer when you start it up...

EDIT: Yep, no 'Cannot install on this system error'. Looks grand.. cheers for quick reply DubWireless.
