Forgive my possible insolence as a noob but following on from a post by Funkz in the above thread, i would like to vent about these so called 'smiley' faces.

I hereby call for a blanket ban in BR&RH on all 'smiley' faces currently on boards. I do so for 2 main reasons:

    1. The word 'smiley' is the anthisisis of manliness. Say it out loud right now and tell me it doesn't sound ridiculous. It is a word that men should never use unless it is unavoidable (ie someone names an extremely tasty beer 'Smiley Brew' or something of the like).

    2. The available 'smiley' faces on boards are unrepresentative of the average poster on this forum. They show things like smirking, the wearing of sunglasses and not knowing the answer to something (bloody ??? over the head). I mean, when was the last time a man didn't know the answer to something? Where is the depiction of drunkenness, general laziness or sport watchingness? They do, in fact, discrminate against us in so many ways that i would be tempted to take further action of there wasn't so much good football on TV this week.

I shall end this needless rant with a warning that anybody responding to this by posting 'smiley' faces is going directly on my mortal enemies list (currently just a sheet with 'future mother in law' written on it)

The smileys on the cloud skin are so much better than the normal ones.

On a different forum I used to go on before it got shut down there was a smilie of a guy getting sick.

That describes my last 25 minutes perfectly only with Whitesnake Here I Go Again song in the background, it was actually great craic though!

Smileys, alone with excessive use of exclamation marks and the font Comic Sans are not welcome here.

    Locked.
