Like the rest of Dundrum village, it will probably be bought out by Dundrum Town Centre.

Does anyone know why the only airspace allowed for development is after the station and not directly above, a lot like Balally.

I suspect its an oversight, DLRCC own one part and the RPA own the other.

Depending on the exact construction details, if the developer can't put foundations west of the platforms (in separate ownership), then it might not be practical or possible to build over the platforms.

Certainly CIÉ don't like building over platforms as the rules say such a section has to then be treated as if it is in a tunnel. I'm not sure how much that affects diesel -v- electric operation.

Ballaly was badly designed and acts like a funnel in high wind, making the platform environment intolerable. Wheelchair access is rather roundabout.

Of course, if this were me, I'd be looking to buy the VEC(?) site and the houses across the road also.

I'm becoming a bit concerned with how much of dundrum the town centre are in effective control of, and really wouldn't like to see this added to their portfolio. I think it should be sold or let in lots to preserve the character of the area.
