    Hi there,

I'm off to Ethiopia in a few weeks, bringing the dSLR but also going to bring the Rolleicord medium format. Given there'll be constant sun, what would anyone recommend to bring - slide or print and at what speed?

    Hugh

With light that good, I'd go for the slide but only if you're prepared to pay good money to get proper prints from them. It's not the easiest to get decent prints from slides anymore. I actually get excited when I think how good slide film looks (especially on medium format)!!!
Fuji Reala 100 ISO is a good colour print film if you decide to go with print film.
I'd also be thinking to keep the ISO as low as possible unless you know your going to be in dimly lit buildings etc. It's a toughie. I don't envy you. I know I'd like to bring a bit of everything, but thats not practical.
I'm sorry I've literally given you no sound advice or opinion, other than to bring a bit of everything! Should be a fantastic trip....lucky you!

    *I'd bring slide personally...Fuji Velvia 50*

I was there 3 years ago and what I would recommend (if you are visiting Lake Tana or Lallibela) is bring a couple of rolls of fast film and a monopod because you are allowed to take photographs in many of the churches but not to use a flash.
