DVR on MMDS

Anyone else on MMDS (Dublin) and using the DVR? If so please read on and reply anyway.

Some channels on MMDS are special, eg Ch4 E4 and E4+1, these are used to send control information apart from the dvb-c signal. Also the software on board will default to channel 101 (RTE 1) if you type in a channel number to slowly or make a mistake.

Additionally when a channel is not present, the box will mute the sound and display a loss of signal banner screen.

I've noticed that when RTE 1 or any of the special channels are missing, when I change channel using the channels numbers, I get the loss of signal and muted sound, despite the fact that the channel I am watching is OK and the one I am trying to move to is OK. Once the loss of signal banner appears, it will not go away until I power off the box.

There is a work around in that if you use the channel + and - keys this does not happen. But going from TV3 (103) to Sky Sports 1 (402) is a major pain.

Has anyone else come across this one?

If you have dvr and mmds and all is ok please let me know? 38 reads and not one reply?

    Hi

Yes get same problem on MMDS in Mayo, what I found is if you get a channel with no sound as you mentioned above, press TV guide and sound will come back on so then simply press back up, not ideal but its a solution! Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply! Will try it out next time a channel is missing.
