    Hey guys,

I need to change a one of my headlight bulbs, I've stripped the front of the bike down so i can get good access bulb itself, however i can't seem to get the bulb out of the fitting. is there any trick to these things?

should the bulb just pull out?

    cheers for any help.

Just make sure you don’t handle the glass part of the bulb, if you do it will not last long. If you do happen to touch it wipe it with a rag with methylated spirits and hold the bulb by the metal part.

Doesnt the CBR take a slightly modified H4?(the lugs may be slightly misaligned compared to a standard off the shelf H4) Anyway, remove the block connector from the back and release the spring around the metal neck of the bulb. Good luck on finding a proper replacement as its not a regular bulb afaik.

cheers for the help guys, I've bought a buld that looks correct, it's HS1, it looks the same as the H4 with the exception it is a 35W bulb. the only H4 bulb i could find was 55 or 60W (can't remember which) but after reading online i found that the higher wattage bulb can drain the battery on the 250.

I won't have a chance to change the bulb until the weekend but i'll let you now how it goes.

Yeah the higher wattage bulbs will stuff you battery. Personally I'm of the opinion that the lights on the cbr250 are almost dangerously bad, especially the dims.
I fitted this: http://www.cbr250.com/cbr250/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=49701. Works great.

Worse than drain the battery. They fry the light switch. As it is only meant for 30/35 watt really. So if you have 2 55/60 on the front you are really using 110/120w's where as there is only meant to be 70w. Costs a bit to get that switch fixed.

I've ordered one of the Headlight upgrade kits that sputnik mentioned. I'm just waiting on it too arrive and i'll give it a go.
