Played Dunmurry yesterday for the third time in the last 18months or so...

Gale-force wind threatened to ruin the day and made scoring impossible, but I have to say, I love this course.

    It's one of my favourites...

I think I remember someone here mentioning before that they're desperately trying to recruit members and I'd also heard whispers that they were struggling for money - the fact the clubhouse is still in a half-built state would seem to back this up.

I was chatting briefly to a groundskeeper and it didn't take him long to bring up the subject of membership so I suppose that would suggest what people have been saying is accurate.

Either way, the greens are superb and there are some really eye-catching holes on it... €30 Monday-Friday at this time of year is a great price too - I will be back - but I won't be joining! :)

Yeah i love this course too! Pity about the financial issues they seem to be having though. Really put me of joining.

I heard that craddockstown is being sold for development and as part of the sale the developer is buying all the members shares in Dunmurry. Dont know how true this is but came from a reliable source. Anyone else hear this?

Haven't heard that but I have a friend who's a member in Craddockstown and he's always felt something like this is inevitable somewhere along the line alright...

Shame cos it's a cracking course since it's been done up. Actually think I'll get meself down there for a round in the next week or two - thanks for the reminder JuJu! :)

Aren't all new courses feeling the pinch these days? i think they are doing things rights by taking there time on the clubhouse while using funds on course development and upkeep, it assures its a place for people who want to play good golf and not talk about it at the bar! Its in great nick and has a lot to offer, as word of mouth continues to get round the financial issues will sort themselves.

I certainly hope so as it's a real gem...
