Well, as some people might have seen me promising to re-do that fountain of knowledge that is "The Ultimate Sticky" over the weekend and bearing in mind I want to re-name it "Read This Before Asking Anything", if anyone has suggestions for FAQs and their answers, please speaketh them here...

I already have a few threads earmarked for copying, but I have to dig them all out. Suggestions and links much appreciated :D

    "What camera should I buy?"
Gobsheens who think the rest of us can use a Sixth Sense to determine what their budget is, what their level of experience is & what they want to photograph, need to be given some tips on how to post.

About "What camera should I buy" - Questions to ask myself before asking What camera should I buy.

I've just realised - the answers also...

I'll give it a go after breakfast.

What about to have it as "a task"? But I don't know anything...
If you don't mind, I will have a look at the "What to ask myself before asking what exact camera to buy."

    Well done Thonda, very comprehensive.
One suggestion, perhaps there should be a short list of questions that new people looking for info should answer in their post.

Something like (off the top of my head)

    Have you read the sticky?
    Budget?
Intended use (give as much detail as possible)?
Max size (fit in a pocket or willing to carry a bag)?

    I'm sure there are others

    Wrong.

Use whatever puts your work across at it's best.

Is this a discussion about the Adobe web product or putting 'artificial' light into images?!:D

Lol, Adobe flash, not lighting flash!

Though, he'd be even more wrong if he was refering to flash of the lighting kind, so it's a win/win situation for me

not really though, cos you cant use bookmarks or link to individual images or.. the list goes on, also you cant view it as standard, requires installing stuff.. which might deter people. It has its ups and downs, as most things. I'd say only if you cant do it any other way.. or really really like it, and can do it well and not too tacky.

It's very rare that one will need to bookmark an individual page on a photographers site, especially if it's easy to navigate, same as for linking to individual images - If it's easy to navigate, people won't mind. The vast majority of computers out there have flash installed. More and more nowadays.

"Doing it well and not tacky" is standard for websites.

It just sounds like you're following the herd of "flash is bad, look what I've read about it". Search engines are working on incorporating .swf's into their searches, more and more people have faster lines.

Anyways, this is the wrong thread for this. If you wish to start your own, you know where to go :)
