During Rugby World Cup Years...bring the 6Nations into the Summer?

I was thinking during the year of a world cup, the 6 nations could be brought forward towards the summer so as there is not a gap as long as we had last time!
The tri nations is during the summer, and it helps them out big time when it comes down it, that was one of the problems with Ireland this year, players were not match fit etc.

Im sure there is plenty of obstacles to this, but I dont see why we cant go for it! It doesnt stop Ireland going on tours either, for example the Irish first team play 6 nations and 'A' Team goes on tour before or after 6nations!

Just an Idea...I think it would benefit all countries in that year!

    What you think guys?

The Tri-Nations is played during our summer, not theirs. The players need a rest period at some point. The 6 Nations occupies a good position in the calendar anyway - its the only major sporting competition on at this time and that is good for coverage etc.

I understand that, but I was trying to get the point across that the period they play in is 2 months before the World Cup...as opposed to 6nations which is 6 months before.

Theirs the Heineken Cup, aswell as all of the countries domestic fixtures. Instead of breaking the competition up it could be played through! It doesnt have to be every year, just in the lead up to a world cup!

It seemed to only hinder Ireland during the world cup. Remember the two Tri nations teams that didnt make it to the final, or the semi's for that matter? Ok so SA won it, England got to the final, france to the semi's and Argentina, who don't even have an internatonal competition to play in got to the semi's too.
Then if we moved the 6 nations to the summer, there would be no international matches between the autumn and summer....thats almost a longer break.
