No idea on the wings sorry but I remember years ago being on holiday in Galway somewhere and my mum drove us to the beach in my parents' friend's Fuego and sitting for 10 minutes while she struggled to get the damn thing into reverse. I was like 8 so I was no help ;)

There was one at the Moynalty show last year. Rare cars indeed.

OP, did you try eBay? You're bound to find something there.

Have a look on the members cars section of Kilkenny Motor Club Web site.
    www.Kilkennymotorclub.com.

Looks like there is a Renault Nut there.

Fantastic stuff, thanks for the replies and the PMs. they are actually for a mate of mine who is putting the engine and box from a 21 Turbo into a Fuego!! He also has an 18 Turbo, anyone remember them?

Even rarer than a Bugatti Veyron! :D Is it an original Irish reg. model?

For a short while in the 80's the police in Dublin had a few R18 turbos.
    Presumably to catch the joyriders.
At the time my best mate had a silver Fuego which I thought was the business (I only had a 10 speed bike)

There used to be a chap scrapping cars in Half Way near Ballinhassic in Co Cork, did pretty much nothing but Renaults. Cant remember his name, might have been O'Brien. Somebody else might have more on him, or even if he's still there.

John O'Sullivan - Halfway Cork. PH. is in the book under car dismantlers. Majority of his stuff is Renault modern models.Worth a ring as some rare Renault models do cross his path. Great guy to deal with and very helpfull.

Also on parts for Fuego - Australian Fuego's are still common and people are willing to post up to mother Ireland. Try Aussiefrogs web site and search threads.
THe Fuego also went to the US but in smaller numbers. Remember that in both of these countries there is little or no tin worm in the hot zones.

Yes,austrailia seems to be the last grea classic car country, a friend bought back a mint 120y datsun, hardly a spot of rust even though the car had been on the road for 30 plus years constantly, i doubt theres a single irish 120y left!

Jaysus, the last time i saw a Fuego was Miley Byrne's blue one in Glenroe!! I remember they had a massive rear window? Can the wings be got through a main dealer?

Aahh! Glenroe. The Cars! The people! The Sheep.
I once serviced a Fuego TL and often found calves or sheep in the back on their way to the mart. OOhh! The feeling of calves tongue on the back of yer necK!!!!

Floated a GTX Fuego once full of dachshounds @ 125 in a controlled environment of course.

    Believe it or not....
Renault often superceed part numbers from older models and use them on new parts or models. The new Renault parts system does not have the ability to see older vehicles. If you want to check for an older vehicle part number then you have to get the original number (Current at the time) and give it to yer delaer. Then they tell renault UK who in turn tell Renault France. Then you wait and wait and wait.

    New? Secondhand?
    In Ireland? France?....
    Internet? Dealership?....
