Its leaked, and probably released soon enough anyway,so what do people think?

Two thirds of the guests are awful (Jim Jones???) and I hate his flat ass drums. Albums a snoozefest basically.

Will check it out. I do like his production so it can't be all bad.

I've relapsed into an awful Def Jux binge lately so it'll be a change of pace at least. I really don't think you can listen to The Cold Vein too many times though.

You probably already know, but Vast Aire has a new album out (well, leaked) with some dude named Karniege.

They are known as Mighty Joseph, album is called Empire State.

Karniege has been on a few of the Eyedea & Abilities records. I've been waiting a long time to hear more of him.

Cold Vein is solid all the way through, some of El-P's finest production.

Does he do the production throughout? Its a nice throwback to Mobb Deep circa 95, he even sounds like Prodigy.

Vast Aire on the other hand, definition of an average MC.

El-p handles all the production, it was the flagship for DefJux and wouldnt let anyone else near it... possibly a good move :)

Good record though, Vast Aire is average as an emcee and tends to repeat verses but there is still something about him that keeps you listening. Vordul Mega outshines him on the Cold Vein.

50/50 album IMO. Good beats & bad beats. And as we know, Pete can't really rap, but he still sounds funky.

pretty fair description, been listening to this for the past few weeks now and it has grown on me. there's definitley a fair bit of filler material here but there is a couple of nice tunes also "ready fe the war" and "best kept secret" with the Lords of the Underground bein 2 of my favourites! he's soul survivor albums are pretty good, especially the first one which came out on Loud (i think)
