eBay, PayPal and delivery address

I want to place a bid on an item on eBay and pay by PayPal. But the address on my eBay account and my PayPal account are both different to the address to where I want to send the item. Does anybody know if this is going to cause any issue when I come to pay? The address I plan on using is in the UK so postage costs will be cheaper, etc, so I need to know about this before I place the bid.

You'll need to add the other address to your eBay or Paypal (and possibly both) account before you buy. I don't think there's much to it other than that. When you bid and win, just select the alternate address when going through the payment process.

You also might want to get it confirmed

But all that guff with PayPal and "verified address" or whatever it is? That only applies to billing address, I guess?

Some sellers (me included) will not sell to buyers who pay with paypal and do not have a confirmed address or who want the item send to a different address that is not confirmed. Other sellers do not care

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. I can't even add the UK address to my PayPal account anyway (it hardwires to Ireland as the country) so I've added it as an eBay address, but I suspect it'll all go wrong when I go to pay. I guess my best bet is to contact the seller and try and explain.

Yep do contact the seller. Contact the seller and ask him would he be okay with sending it to the UK if you gave him the address. Possibly even offer him a little extra for postage for doing so if he is apprehensive.

Then when you do pay him by PayPal before you complete the payment there should be a box where you can send any comments to the seller, just add the UK address in there and it should work out for you.

Did this yesterday, checked with seller, that he would ship to my parents in North paid the invoice generated by ebay, put note of shipping address in comments box and seller refunded me part of the shipping cost, national rate as apposed to international rate:D

Ireland cant get address confirmed, so by that logic, no one should post to Ireland?

The logic of paypal means that sellers who post to Ireland are not covered by seller protection which means some sellers will not post to Ireland if the buyer pays with paypal.
