Folks I have a rake of PC's in work that are all acting weird.
I am trying to see what exactly is the problematic part but I am having no joy at all.....

When the PC is booting it will hang.... It happens at any point, when windows is loading mainly.
I tried to reimage the PC and the image hangs.
Tried new RAM, GCards, HDD etc and no joy.

Last thing I have in mind is the thermal paste is non-existant anymore, could this be the problem??

Thermal paste has dissipated on all machines at once ? Or is this an issue on one PC only ? Sounds like you are imaging a machine on an infected network if you are talking multiple identical isssues . Please clarify !

Not all at once no. These have accumulated in the store room in work and we are trying to fix up what we can. Most/All of them have the same problem descried above.
They are not on the network and its a clean install of Windows going onto them.
They are from the same company and not the maywest parts wise.

I'd check the thermal paste on one of them. If it turns out to be the problem then have a look at the others. Sounds unlikely though.

I thought you were booting from HD . Are you trying to boot all the machines from the same CD ? If so it's very likely to be a scratched/damaged CD .

What OS ( curiosity only) ?

Yes I am booting from HDD, but I am trying to install the OS onto it. Windows 2000 is what I am using and the installation disk is perfect so I have ruled that out.
The thermal paste is non-existant on a few of them so I have ordered in a tube of it to try and see if that is the cause.

If the BIOS has the option, check the CPU temperature...
