    Hi all,
I currently have a Nikon D70s and its a 6.1 megapixels. At what picture size does the limitations with a 6.1 megapixels become obvious?

Is this camera out of date compared to a D80 and is it worth upgrading just to get the extra 4 megapixels?

Any thoughts or views on this appreciated.
    thanks.

To be honest, you should probably look at the D200 as your more natural upgrade path, rather than the D80. The D80 probably won't be enough of a step up for you, plus it uses different memory cards (SD versus CF) to your D70.

Second hand prices are coming down all the time and you can get some good bargains for the D200 on eBay or Adverts.ie these days (relatively speaking, probably between €750 and €900).

However to answer your question, no, it's probably not worth upgrading to a D80 if all your after is a few extra megapixels. For print sizes, here's a handy chart.

What's the largest print size you have done so far? The D70s is still a great camera but the D200 would be a better upgrade considering the used prices they are going for. There's one on adverts going for around €600. For that king of money, they are a steal.

As the other guys have said, the D200 would be the natural upgrade. The D80 was a replacement camera for the D70 in the same price range. If you can push the budget, the D300 would definitly be worth spending the extra few €'s for.
