Does anybody know if it is a lot cheaper to buy a laptop in Singapore than in Dublin? Are there any issues relating to foreign software/ warranties or other pitfalls to be aware of? I would spend about 1300.

    Thanks for any advice...

I don't know off hand if any electronics would be vastly cheaper in Singapore but I would imagine so (can hardly be anymore expensive than here!).
Some manufacturers offer a world wide international warranty (for example the Asus EeePc has such a warranty) however if you do decide to invest in electronics its best t oask the salesman what the story with warranties would be.
